摘要： The statement that  eigenvalues are continuous functions of the entries of matrices is often seen in the literature.  What does it really mean? We take a close look at the definition(s) of  eigenvalue continuity. We also examine  and discuss a  standard  proof of the Gersgorin theorem using eigenvalue  continuity.
