The Second Workshop on Heavy-Tailed Models and Their Applications, March 21-23, 2014, Soochow University
(Second Notice)

1. Introduction
Heavy-tailed models, as an important research topic in applied probability theory, has been extensively studied and applied to many fields such as finance, insurance and engineering, etc.. In order to promote the study of the topic and encourage collaboration among colleagues, after the first workshop on heavy-tailed models and their applications held in 2010, the Second Workshop on Heavy-Tailed Models and Their Applications will be jointly held by Chinese probability and statistical society and School of Mathematical Sciences of Soochow University on March 21-23, 2014. The workshop is sponsored by Jiangsu Provincial First-Rank Discipline of Statistics. Professor Foss Sergey (Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK and S.L.Sobolev Institute of Mathematics, Novosibirsk, Russia) and Professor Qihe Tang (University of Iowa)  will give keynote speeches during the workshop.

2. Scope of Talks
We welcome talks on all theoretical and applied areas of probability and statistics with emphasis on heavy-tailed models and their applications to finance, insurance,
engineering and related fields.
The working language of the workshop is English.
