Abstract: The simplest AM-GM inequality has several noncommutative analogues as far as the eigenvalues or singular values are concerned. One intriguing 
question of this sort proposed by Bhatia and Kittaneh was recently solved by Drury in the affirmative. In this talk I revisit Drury’s solution.

Biography: Dr. Minghua Lin received his bachelor degree from Shaanxi Normal University in 2009 and a master degree from the University of Regina in 2011. In 2013 he was awarded a PhD degree from the University of Waterloo. Before joining Shanghai University in September 2015, he spent 2 years as a PIMS postdoctoral fellow at the University of Victoria.
