The “top-heavy” conjecture and Kazhdan-Lusztig theory of matroids

摘要: I will first review the proof of the “top-heavy” conjecture (in the realizable case) by Dowling and Wilson in the 70’s. Then I will discuss some on-going joint work with Braden, Huh, Matherne and Proudfoot on the general case, and the relation with a matroid analog of the Kazhdan-Lusztig theory.
